Research title: Exploring the legacies of steel slag at Glengarnock, North Ayrshire: a situated interdisciplinary account of an anthropogenic geomaterial

Research Summary

I am a historical geographer, currently commencing my Scottish Graduate School of Social Sciences (SGSSS) funded PhD entitled ‘Exploring the social, historical and environmental legacies of steel slag.’ This is an interdisciplinary project, drawing from human geography, earth science and archaeology to explore the ways in which thinking with steel slag can be generative in the reconstruction of the hidden landscapes of the Glengarnock Steelworks.
