Research title: High-resolution imaging and spatial dissection of directional plant growth responses to light
Research Summary
I’m studying jointly at the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde for my PhD in Biochemistry & Biotechnology, fully funded by the North West Bio DTP program.
My project is in the field of plant photobiology, where I’m investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying phototropism (the way plants bend towards a light source) using a combined approach of microscopy and molecular microbiology.

Conferences
I'm currently organising the fourth international Young Researchers' Symposium on Plant Photobiology (YRSPP), which will be held at the University of Edinburgh in April 2026.
This symposium is designed to bring together early-career researchers (ECRs) in the field of plant photobiology, with the goal of providing an international platform for them to share their work, develop collaborative networks with peers, and gain insight on academic careers in the field.
