Changes in eating patterns from consumption of traditional fresh foods to ultra-processed foods, such as snacks, are factors contributing to the problem. Parental knowledge, attitudes, and practices and infant's feeding (i.e snackig) behaviours and how they impact infant's nutritional status needs investigation. This programme of research will aim to (1) explore eating and feeding behaviours in children aged 6 months to 5 years, (2) explore parental knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding snacking patterns in Indonesia and determine the extent to which these relate to eating behaviour, satiety and nutritional status (3) develop an intervention using randomised control trial design to address key problem identified during studies 1 and 2. The research will use a mixed methods apporach including cross-sectional studies, focus groups or interview, diet and nutritional assessment, and satiety experiment.
