Research title: Mathematical modeling of covid-19 dynamics and possible interventions in a West African context
Research Summary
My research focuses on infectious diseases. Infectious diseases like COVID-19 are an emerging and re-emerging challenge at local, national, and global levels. They jeopardize not only public health but also social and economic well-being. Hence my research aims to develop a modified SEIR model of COVID-19 dynamics that incorporates the impacts of pharmaceutical intervention (Vaccine) and at least two non-pharmaceutical interventions and heterogeneity in Nigeria to have a better understanding of the disease dynamics. I will achieve this by developing the methods, making simulations and applying this method to both real and simulated data.
