Research title: Epidemiology of the enteric protozoan parasite Giardia

Research Summary

I am a public health veterinarian and researcher. My background and interests span a variety of topics within the field of 'one health' epidemiology, including zoonosis transmission modelling, genomics of zoonotic pathogens, disease control interventions, food hygiene, official veterinary controls, and antimicrobial resistance.

I am a Resident of the European College of Veterinary Public Health (ECVPH) at the University of Glasgow. The ECVPH Residency programme provides specialised training in veterinary epidemiology and public health. During my Residency, I am undertaking research projects on the molecular epidemiology of brucellosis in North Cyprus and the genomics of feline calicivirus in the UK. I contribute to a number of other projects on diverse topics, such as the economics of brucellosis in Tanzania and the epidemiology of hoof lesions in Sicilian dairy farms.
