The University of Glasgow, a place that celebrates world-changing, inspiring people, has been ranked top in Scotland and third in the Russell Group in the National Student Survey 2015.

The results also place 15 of the University’s subject areas in the UK's top ten.

Professor Anton Muscatelli, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, said:

"I am absolutely delighted that the University of Glasgow has been rated number one in Scotland, and as one of the very top universities across the UK by our students. This is another outstanding result for Glasgow and underlines the importance that everyone at the University places on ensuring that our students enjoy a brilliant learning experience to provide world class teaching and support and access to some of the best facilities anywhere in Britain."

Liam King, President of the University’s Student's Representative's Council added:

"Top in Scotland and third in the Russell Group are fantastic rankings. Overall, the results confirm what many students at Glasgow will know already: that the University of Glasgow is an excellent place to come to study."

The NSS results follow other recent University achievments: being named Institution of the Year at the inaugural Herald Higher Education Awards and ranking fourth in the UK for international student satisfaction.

This September students will benefit from a £13m investment in the University’s sports facilities, and work will begin to create a new Learning and Teaching hub as part of an overall £375m campus development plan that will support the University’s ambition to be recognised internationally as a world-class, world-changing university.
