Glasgow signs MOU with the University of South Africa

The agreement is part of the PASCAL International Observatory - a collaboration of Universities including Glasgow, RMIT Melbourne and Northern Illinois in the States.
The University has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of South Africa.
The signing took place earlier this week when Principal Professor Anton Muscatelli was joined by the High Commissioner of South Africa, Dr Zola Skweyiya and other university colleagues.
The PASCAL International Observatory collaboration sees Glasgow working alongside RMIT Melbourne, Northern Illinois in the US and now UNISA, with the aim of furthering engagement between universities and their local public and policy-making bodies.
Principal Professor Muscatelli said he was delighted to sign the MOU.
“Building our international links is key to our strategic direction and in welcoming a top University like University of South Africa to PASCAL, we are not only strengthening the scope and reach of this excellent initiative, but are further enhancing the name and reputation of the University.
“I wish the PASCAL project continuing success,” he added.
The University has been a major participant for the European arm of PASCAL since 2008 and Professor Mike Osborne, in the Department of Adult and Continuing Education, leads the work.
