A record number of degrees and certificates were conferred by the University of Glasgow at the Dumfries Campus graduations this week.
Delighted friends and family joined university staff and guests at Crichton Memorial Church to congratulate graduates on their success and to wish them well for the future.
Degrees were conferred by University Principal Sir Muir Russell who paid tribute to the hard work and achievement of all the graduates: "On behalf of the whole University of Glasgow community, I offer my sincere congratulations to everyone whose achievements we are recognising today. It is a day of celebration for them and for those who have supported them during their time as students."
A total of 28 students graduated with an award of Honours in the First Class, Distinction, or Merit, demonstrating the tradition of excellence in teaching and learning for which the University of Glasgow is well-known. The ceremony emphasised the strength of the University’s links with local organisations, particularly in terms of the extensive range of work placements undertaken by students.
The University of Glasgow is celebrating 10 years in Dumfries this year, and will be marking the occasion with a series of celebratory and community events.
