Harvard professor to deliver Economics seminar

Professor Elhanan Helpman, Stone Professor of International Trade at Harvard University, is to speak on 'Inequality and Unemployment in a Global Economy' on Wednesday 11 February.
The Department of Economics is pleased to announce that Professor Elhanan Helpman will be presenting a seminar at the University of Glasgow on Wednesday 11 February 2009.
Professor Helpman, Galen L. Stone Professor of International Trade at Harvard University, www.economics.harvard.edu/faculty/helpman will be presenting his paper on ‘Inequality and Unemployment in a Global Economy'.
He has made significant and important contributions to a number of different areas in economics and is best known for his work in International Trade, particularly the so-called New Trade Theory which he co-authored with Paul Krugman, last year’s Nobel laureate.
The lecture starts at 4pm in the Main Lecture Theatre of the Sir Charles Wilson Building, University Avenue.
