Fitness instructors from the University of Glasgow gym will compete in a national competition to be named the UK’s Favourite Instructor.
Competing in a Scottish heat for the So You Think You Can Teach competition on Tuesday 6 November, four University of Glasgow staff members will demonstrate their skills in teaching fitness classes.
Julie Falls, Lynsay Rankin, Odile Treanor and Arlene Burns will compete to be the Scottish representative at the national finals in Blackpool by choreographing and teaching a ten to fifteen minute exercise to music routine.
Director of the University’s Sport and Recreation Service, Julie Ommer, said: “It’s fantastic that four of our staff members are putting their skills to the test in this competition. We get very positive feedback from the students, staff and members of the public who attend our fitness classes so we are confident they will do really well on Tuesday.”
Those who make it to the final in March will take part in an online competition where members of the public can view the exercise routines and vote for their favourite instructor.
The So You Think You Can Teach competition is organised by fitness fx. Details of the competition can be found at: http://www.fitness-fx.com/Competition/Information/tabid/9387/Default.aspx
