Glasgow University has risen to 81 in this year's Times World University Rankings ヨ an encouraging increase of 20 places on last year's position of 101.
University Principal, Sir Muir Russell, said: "This excellent news reflects the dedication of staff and students who make Glasgow University one of the best in the world, one of only two Scottish universities in the top 100.
"It is particularly gratifying that this year's rankings highlight the success of our recently renewed vision for the future of the University of Glasgow. We will continue to work hard on focussing on our priorities, investing in the best people, and making hard choices for the good of the University."
This achievement is an encouraging move towards our goal ヨ stated in our recently published strategic plan ヨ to be among the top 50 higher education institutions in the world.
The rankings also place Glasgow University as 26th in Europe and 12th in the UK.
