Professor Murray Harper was a medical student at the University of Glasgow and graduated in 1957. He later became a member of staff at the University.

He made significant scientific achievements in the field of cerebral blood flow and was the Director of the Wellcome Surgical Institute and Hugh Fraser Neuroscience Laboratories at Garscube until his retirement in 1996.

His funeral will be on Thursday 4 August at 11am at Clydebank Crematorium.
