Raising more than just a smile for the new Leukaemia Research Fund Centre
Published: 17 March 2004
As part of the on-going fundraising campaign a comedy evening will be held at the Stand Comedy Club, Woodlands Road, on Wednesday 21st April.
The University of Glasgow is working with Leukaemia Research Fund to provide a major new translational research centre in the heart of Glasgow's medical community.
The new Centre will be based at Glasgow's Gartnavel Hospital, occupying the entire third floor of a purpose-built laboratory building. This will mean that much of Glasgow's ongoing leukaemia research expertise, currently spread across various locations in the city, will now be undertaken on a single site.
As part of the on-going fundraising campaign a comedy evening will be held at the Stand Comedy Club, Woodlands Road, on Wednesday 21st April.
Tickets for this event are limited to 200 and cost £6. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 9pm.
The Stand has very generously offered use of the venue free of charge, and the comedians are also donating their time at no cost. The evening promises to be one of laughter and entertainment, with a selection of comedians performing on the night.
