The University of Glasgow is pleased to announce that it will be hosting three British Academy Postdoctoral Fellows over the next three years.
The University of Glasgow is pleased to announce that it will be hosting three British Academy Postdoctoral Fellows over the next three years. Despite the high standard of applications in the 2004 competition, there was only an 8.4% success rate due to the rigorous assessment process. It is therefore a high honour for the selected candidates, and for the University. Out of 440 applicants, only 37 Fellowships were awarded.
The 3 selected candidates who have proposed Glasgow as their host institution are:
Dr Juergen Kaufmann: Department of Psychology
(Mentor: Dr S M Biello)
Dr Ioana Oltean: Department of Archaeology
(Mentor: Prof. W S Hanson)
Dr Craig Smith: Department of Politics
(Mentor: Mr Andrew Lockyer)
In a recent survey by The Scientist magazine, the University was voted as one of the top 15 institutions in the world for PhD research, beating Oxford and Cambridge. With its research facilities so highly regarded, the University is delighted that three British Academy Postdoctoral Fellows should choose to carry out their studies here.
