I am sorry to have to tell you that (Sir) Alwyn Williams passed away peacefully on Sunday 4 April 2004.

Many will remember with respect and affection his distinguished leadership of this University through a time of great change and challenge. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Lady Williams and the family.

The funeral will be private, for members of the family only. A University memorial service will be held on a date to be announced.
