Martin Jones to give inaugural Steinway recital

The first public recital on the University's new Steinway Model D Grand Piano will be given by the renowned solo pianist Martin Jones on 12 October in the Concert Hall.
Following a successful fundraising campaign run by the 2001 Development Office, the University recently purchased a much-needed new Steinway Model D Grand Piano. The first public recital on the new instrument will be given by the renowned solo pianist Martin Jones, who formed part of the group that chose the piano at the Steinway showrooms in April this year.
The concert will take place in the Concert Hall of the University of Glasgow on Friday, 12 October 2001 at 7.30pm. The following will be performed by Martin Jones during the concert:
Variations on a theme by Bach - Liszt
Nocturne, op. 33 - Barber
Four pieces from Iberia - Alb←niz
(Rondena, El albaicin, Evocation, Triana)
Escenas rom£nticas - Granados
Fantasy on Gershwin's Porgy and Bess - Earl Wild
