The University has announced a further list of people who have accepted an invitation to receive honorary degrees during the 550th anniversary celebrations.

PROFESSOR PIER UGO CALZOLARI, Rector, University of Bologna, Italy. When it was founded in 1451 the University of Glasgow was modelled on the University of Bologna.
DR BERNARD J SHAPIRO, Principal and Vice Chancellor, McGill University, Canada. McGill University was founded in 1821 by an alumnus of Glasgow, James McGill who went to North America in the 18th century and reputedly became the wealthiest man in Montreal.
