Royal Honours for staff

Professor Charles Fewson, first Director of the Institute of Biomedical & Life Sciences, is among members of the University honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Professor Peter Vanezis is honoured in the Diplomatic List.
Professor Charles Fewson, the first Director of the Institute of Biomedical & Life Sciences, has been appointed an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to biological sciences.
Professor Peter Vanezis, Regius Professor of Forensic Medicine & Science is made an OBE in the Diplomatic & Overseas Service List, as is Dr Susan Black, an honorary lecturer in the same department, for their forensic work in Kosovo.
Dr James MacDonald, Department of Adult & Continuing Education has been appointed a MBE for services to adult eductation.
Mr Jeffrey Jay, an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology, has been made a CBE for services to ophthalmology
Joan Frondigoun, Assistant Training Organiser in the Children's Panel Training Unit, c/o DACE, has been appointed a MBE for services to the Children's Hearing System in Glasgow.
