Funding for lab projects

Two research groups in the Institute of Biomedical & Life Sciences (IBLS) have won funding under the Royal Society - Wolfson Foundation Laboratory Refurbishment Scheme.
Research groups led by Dr Graeme Ruxton of the Division of Environmental & Evolutionary Biology and Prof. Tim Mitchell of the Division of Infection & Immunity, (both IBLS) have been awarded grants under the Royal Society - Wolfson Foundation Laboratory Refurbishment Scheme.
Dr Ruxton's award of £54k is for a Theoretical Ecology Laboratory in the Graham Kerr Building and Prof. Mitchell's award of £146k is to establish a Bioinformatics Facility in the Joseph Black Building to support research on "Post Genomic Approaches to Vaccine and Drug Design".
This news follows recent JIF funding for plant research facilities in the Bower Building. (See earlier story).
