This realistic model, 43 feet long, weighing two tons and twelve weeks in the making, may prove to be the world's largest museum reconstruction of the creature. The impressive beastie was created by a trio of Glasgow based modelmakers, Joe Cherrie, John Riddell and Kate Nelson, using fibreglass, polyurethane foam and clay on a steel skeletal armature built by renowned metal sculptor Andy McDonald.
From Saturday 27th January until Sunday 29th April 2001, 7 days a week, the exhibition of 'Walking With Dinosaurs' will be at the Hunterian Museum in the University of Glasgow. More than just the making of the most successful science programme ever produced, this exhibition will show the science behind the reconstructions, and the fossils behind the stories used in the scenes.
