Court and Senate have both endorsed the report of the Committee of Recommendation for the Deanship of the Faculty of Education that the next Dean should be Dr Hirek Kwiatkowski of the Department of Curriculum Studies. He will take over on 1 August 2001 when Prof. Bart McGettrick completes his term and will serve until 31 July 2005.

Court also agreed that, as soon as possible, a small working group be set up to take forward the results of the review of the Faculty with a view to implementing any revised structures by 1 August 2001 and addressing any associated staffing and management issues in the intervening period.

The composition of this working group will be agreed between the Dean-elect and the Vice-Principal acting as Convener of the Merger Implementation Group (MIG).
