What are we doing now?
Our small team, like the UofG App team, are using modern Agile software development techniques, and are working quickly to deliver new features. Using our ‘blueprint’ for the next generation of the staff and student portals, we are busy looking at the technical and operational aspects that will make our vision a reality. This includes working with different areas of the University to see how the portals platform can support their services.
This is especially true for the staff portal, where we are already working in partnership with teams from People and Organisational Development on how to create dedicated support for health and wellbeing and a better online experience for new staff members.
We are also working closely with External Relations and Marketing to create an Internal Communications ‘hub’ where staff can access the most up-to-date information about what’s going on around the University and how it might affect them.
For the student portal, we are looking at the alignment between the UofG Life App and the student portal, to make sure we reflect actual student behaviour and preferences in the way they interact with services.
To make it easier for both staff and students to make their way around the portal in the meantime, we are introducing a Welcome Tour, which will also demonstrate how to personalise the portal to suit your needs.
