Here's what we need from UNISON members seeking advice and representation.
As a member of Unison, so long as you have been a paid-up member for a minimum of four weeks, you can get support or representation for issues like the following:
- health and safety concerns, such as bullying/harassment issues
- disciplinary hearings
- performance management hearings
- maternity/Paternity issues
- problems related to your terms and conditions
Please note: the role of the union is to give you support if you are unable to resolve issues by yourself. If you have tried to do something about an issue, and haven't gotten anywhere, then it's probably time to contact the union. If you've been told you're subject to a formal process, such as a disciplinary process or you receive a warning [formal or informal], contact us ASAP via unison@glasgow.ac.uk. We need as much notice as possible to organise a representative to accompany you.
As a general rule, if you are ever invited to a meeting and you find that HR have been invited as well and you have concerns, contact the union immediately.
