MyGrades Project Update: Progress, Feedback, and What's Next
Dear colleagues,
We are excited to share an update on the MyGrades project and its progress, thanks to your valuable input and engagement. As MyGrades will be used for all courses in Semester 1 AY 25/26, this communication is designed to help you prepare for this transition.
We've made significant strides in developing and refining MyGrades,. We've completed development, testing and release of core MyGrades functionality, with the final piece of core development delivered in January. This comprised of a custom export and a ratified MyCampus export.
A huge thank you to our early adopters and user acceptance testers for their valuable contributions during this phase. Your feedback has been instrumental in shaping the plug-ins. To help you get familiar with MyGrades, we've compiled a comprehensive list of FAQ'S
Progress so far
We've actively sought feedback from various groups, including early adopters, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) participants, the College Delivery Group members (CDG), and, most importantly, students. Your insights have been invaluable. Here is what they have to say, you can access all colleague testimonies via the microsite.
Student Feedback & Experience
We're committed to ensuring MyGrades enhances the student experience. Initial feedback from students has been positive and constructive. MyGrades’ intuative interface and visuals werte are well-received by the students paneled.
They found Student MyGrades easy to understand and navigate and on average, students would rate MyGrades 9 of 10. With the caveat, that would be if all courses were enabled in Moodle Gradebook.
As a result, we're particularly focused on the inconsistencies in Gradebook set up across courses. Currently some students do not see all the courses they are enrolled in on MyGrades and in some cases not all the data is accurate (missing assessment due dates, missing weightings etc) which is impacting the student experience.
The importance of accurate gradebook set up, and what's coming next?
Accurate gradebook setup is crucial for providing students with clear and consistent information about their progress. This not only helps students track their performance effectively but also contributes to a fair and transparent assessment process.
Student feedback has highlighted the importance of ensuring all courses are enabled to be visible in MyGrades but also the accuracy of the data presented to students. We encourage you to review the guidelines on accurate gradebook setup
