Ensure a Clear & Consistent View for Students in Semester 2
Dear colleagues,
As we prepare for Semester 2, we're calling on all Gradebooks to be set up in Moodle ahead of the start of teaching.
Setting up Gradebook is the first phase in the MyGrades process and must be completed for all courses—whether you are an Early Adopter of Staff MyGrades or not.
Student MyGrades will show assessment information from Moodle Gradebook and MyGrades. Where Moodle Gradebook has already been enabled, this facility has been live to students since 3 September.
Why is Gradebook setup important?
An accurate set-up Gradebook ensures a clear, concise, and consistent view of students’ assessment information on Student MyGrades. Students will see information directly from your Moodle Gradebook, so accuracy is crucial.
Attend a Gradebook Setup Session
To assist you, the Learning Innovation Support Unit (LISU) is offering live upskilling sessions on Gradebook setup to introduce Moodle users to the functionality of Gradebook and its implications to Student MyGrades.

Become a Second Wave MyGrades Adopter
Following the success of our Early Adopters programme in Semester 1, we're inviting a second wave of adopters to join the MyGrades rollout.
Why be a Second Wave Adopter?
- Get a head start on Staff MyGrades: Staff MyGrades will be rolled out to all Moodle users in Semester 1, AY25/26. Participating now allows you to become familiar with the set up before a potentially busier time next year.
- Spread out the impact of change: By joining the second wave, you'll help us gradually introduce MyGrades and ensure a smoother transition for everyone.
- Benefits: Early access to the Moodle plugins, valuable feedback opportunities, and becoming a MyGrades champion within your school.
