MyGrades Project Update: Progress, Feedback, and What's Next
Dear Colleagues,
We're excited to share with you our plans to host MyGrades Roadshows in the coming weeks. Join us for an informative session to prepare for the rollout of MyGrades in Semester 1 AY 25/26. Dates will be circulated for your College's roadshow session soon.
Why Attend?
- Understand the "Why": Learn about the purpose and benefits of MyGrades and how it will enhance learning and teaching.
- Upskilling & Support: Discover the comprehensive upskilling opportunities and ongoing support available to you.
- Early Adopter Insights: Hear firsthand from colleagues who have participated in the early adopter phase and learn about their positive experiences.
- Open Dialogue: Participate in a forum for open discussion and have your questions answered. We understand that implementing new tools can bring questions, and we want to ensure you feel fully supported.
Your input is vital to a successful rollout.
Moodle Course Templates
In semester 1 2024, all new Moodle courses adopted a set of Moodle course templates, developed in response to continuous student feedback about the need for more consistent Moodle course designs. Following this successful launch, the Learning and Teaching Committee has agreed that:
All credit-bearing courses will adopt the templates from semester 1 2025 Non-credit-bearing and non-standard courses are encouraged to use the templates where appropriate.
More information on the tempaltes approved and agreed by LTC can be found here.
How we developed the templates
The Moodle Template project team conducted a thorough programme of user research to assess and improve the design of the templates, including a consultation with staff across the University and User Experience (UX) testing with students.
The resulting templates are designed to facilitate a smoother, more consistent experience for students, and to provide staff with a set of intuitive, accessible frameworks for building Moodle courses. The resulting templates are designed to facilitate a smoother, more consistent experience for students, and to provide staff with a set of intuitive, accessible frameworks for building Moodle courses.
How to use the templates
The templates are available from the Moodle course creation wizard. To maintain a consistent experience for students, we ask that you only adjust the template to add course content and do not reorder the template structure. The delivery style is up to you, and you will be able to add or remove any excess weeks.
The Learning Innovation Support Unit will deliver a series of Upskilling sessions to help you get the most out of the templates. Find out more about the templates and how to use them:
