Early Adopters - Sponsor's Email
Dear colleagues,
Thank you very much for your involvement in the roll-out of the MyGrades Moodle plugin.
The delivery of the MyGrades Moodle plugin is part of the University’s commitment throughthe Learning and Teaching Strategy to continue to develop a more integrated approach to digital teaching and assessment technologies.
The first part of MyGrades, including the Student MyGrades and the Staff MyGrades grade capture tabs will launch on the 3rd September, with the second part covering aggregation due to be released mid-October.
Due to the staged technical release of the MyGrades Moodle plugin, we are recommending that you ensure that you have access to manual aggregation spreadsheets as a contingency in the event that there are any initial teething problems during the first phase of the MyGrades implementation.
We recognise that your experience of Moodle, Gradebook and GCAT may vary. For some of you the change will feel small and straightforward, whilst others may need to learn new practices. To help prepare for the start of Semester One, we would like to make sure that you feel part of an early adopter group, and that you feel supported and are able to share your insights and expertise.
For existing GCAT users: Following the University’s recent Moodle 4 Upgrade GCAT is no longer compatible with Moodle 4.4 and is now only available on a ‘read-only’ basis. Recognising the impact of this on GCAT users, we have adjusted and advanced the MyGrades Moodle plugin roll-out to all existing GCAT users from the start of Semester One.
To that end, the Project team will work closely with you to introduce potential new ways of working and practices when using the MyGrades Moodle plugin.
Please look out for a meeting invite via a new Teams channel (MyGrades Early Adopters) to an online orientation session to onboard you as an early adopter on Wednesday, 4th September, 11-11.30am, to hear more about:
- How you will be supported.
- The availability of a dedicated MS Teams space.
- How the first phase of MyGrades Moodle plugin works.
The benefits of becoming an early adopter are:
- The opportunity you have to shape and refine both the MyGrades Moodle plugin and LISU upskilling resources.
- Early access to a comprehensive suite of LISU Upskilling resources.
- Personalised support and upskilling to guide you through the changes.
We look forward to seeing you on 4th September. Meanwhile, if you would like to learn more about the MyGrades project, click the button below, and if you have a question for the team, please email them, mygradesproject@glasgow.ac.uk or visit MyGrades Project Website
Thank you for your commitment, continued support and engagement.
