Abandoned bicycles procedure
Abandoned bicycles procedure
1. Label
If a bicycle is suspected to have been abandoned, a label will be attached to it. The label informs that the bicycle will be removed after a month, if the bicycle has not been moved by then, or no contact has been made by the owner.
2. Removal and donation
If the owner of the bike is not coming forward, the bike is removed and donated to Bike for Good, formally Glasgow Bike Station. Bike for Good refurbishes bicycles and sells them.
Please report abandoned bicycles !
If you have noted a bicycle that may be abandoned, please contact the Travel and Transport Co-ordinator with a description of the bike, so that they can be labelled.
Abandoned bikes are likely to show some damage: buckled wheels, flat tyres, missing wheels or other parts, rusty chains, dust on saddles !
