A brand-new space dedicated to all things environmental sustainability opens on the Gilmorehill campus.

EcoHub is a new student space on campus which will host frequent bike repair sessions, a Community Fridge, a Student2Student Essentials swap-shop, plus responsibly sourced and affordable coffee and tea – a bargain at £0.50 a cup if you bring along a reusable mug!

Devised by and developed with students via GUEST (Glasgow University Environmental Sustainability Team), we have repurposed a redundant space on level 2 (room 206 – previously the Piccolino Café) of the Boyd Orr Building – a fully accessible space via the James McCune Smith Learning Hub and University Gardens entrance, opposite the Queen Margaret Union and Computer Sciences’ Sir Alwyn Williams Building.

We will also be hosting regular activities such as plant swaps, practical workshops like clothing repair sessions and sustainable crafting, and climate conversation events, including at Garscube and Dumfries campuses.

EcoHub can also be booked by student clubs and societies for your own events and activities, including movie screenings and presentations.

Opening hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm.

You can find out more by chatting to GUEST at the Welcome Fair 18th & 19th September, contacting them via any of their channels, or just pop into EcoHub anytime.
