James McCune Smith Learning Hub (JMSLH) opening Monday 26 April.
On 26 April, Scotland will move into COVID Protection Level 3 which will allow us to begin to ease some of the restrictions on our campuses. Including opening the doors to new James McCune Smith Learning Hub (JMSLH).
In keeping with Scottish Government guidelines, the building will open in a reduced capacity, providing limited spaces for individual study with catering available from the Hub Kitchen. Opening hours will be 08:00-20:00.
Level 3 the guidance remains that study should be done remotely if possible. If a visit to campus to study is essential, please use the UofG Life app to check how many spaces are free before visiting campus.
Two entrances will be available initially (one on University Gardens and one on University Avenue). UofG Students will have to swipe in using a current campus card to gain access to the building.
When permitted to fully open, the JMSLH will provide capacity for over 2,500 students, including technology-enhanced active learning spaces and the latest AV/IT facilities. It will also operate three catering outlets, serving a range of hot and cold food and drinks.
