The University Tower is illuminated in rainbow colours to mark the start of LGBT History Month.
The University Tower is illuminated in rainbow colours to mark the start of LGBT History Month. It is celebrated every February across the UK with the aim of educating people about the history of the LGBTQ+ rights movement and to promote equality.
Carlo van den Heuvel, LGBTQ+ Network Co-Chair, said: ‘We’re delighted the university supports our initiative. The rainbow illumination is a meaningful visual symbol that the university stands for inclusion, equality, and diversity.’
Eleanor Capaldi, LGBTQ+ Network Co-Chair, said: ‘LGBT History Month is a fantastic opportunity to discover the contributions and influence of LGBTQ+ communities, reminding us of our shared past, and crucially, that we have always been here.’
