University PhD Society

Published: 28 July 2020

The PhD Society is a relatively new addition to the clubs and societies at the university, but this year we are on a mission to extend our reach and build upon our community. We are a diverse group of PhD students from across Colleges and Schools with one common goal: to create a supportive network of researchers within the university and to provide a platform for our voices to be heard. We want to connect, build a community, and have an impact.

Supported by the founding members of the society, our newly elected board members and college representatives have lots of exciting plans and initiatives for the year ahead. We will be hosting regular events, centred around 5 pillars: career, community, empowerment, research, and wellbeing. We communicate with the University and key players to make your voices heard. We give you a platform to explore and make the best of your PhD experience!

Kicking things off in freshers week, we will be hosting a variety of social events and ‘ice breaker’ sessions – so if you’re a new researcher at the university, or you have not heard of us before – get involved! We cannot wait to meet you!

You can connect with us and keep up to date with information about events and opportunities on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You can also sign up to our newsletter through our website.

Send us a message or email uofgphdsociety@gmail.com if you have any questions, or for membership enquiries.
