Editorial Policy
It is the decision of individual Web Publishers to decide what material is suitable for inclusion in their information - there will be no central approval or authorisation unless requested. Web Publishers are responsible for ensuring that all material they make available via the web is in accordance with the Responsibilities of a web publisher.
The administrator of a web server must be able to identify the person responsible - the Web Publisher - for each web page held on that server. All Web Publishers are responsible for ensuring that all material they make available via the web is in accordance with the JANET Acceptable Use Policy.
Any complaints should initially be referred to the Web Publisher, and if necessary to the administrator of the relevant web server. In the case of the central university web server, any complaints will be referred initially to the Webteam for investigation and recommendation. The webteam may refer issues that require further action to the Information Services Committee (ISC). Departments who require guidance on interpretation of the JANET Acceptable Use Policy are advised to consult the Webteam before referring editorial policy issues to the ISC.
