Responsibilities of a web publisher
A member of the University making information avaliable to the public or staff via a University of Glasgow web server is known as a Web Publisher. Every Web Publisher has a responsibility for their published content and must follow the University of Glasgow guidelines for:
- Writing for the Web
- Accessibility
- Web visual identity
A Web Publisher must also:
- Ensure information is up to date and accurate. If you do not have time to update pages, remove them rather than provide inaccurate information.
- Act promptly to rectify errors when notified.
- Not duplicate information that is published elsewhere in the University.
- Check spelling and grammar.
And:
- Read and adhere to the JANET Acceptable Use Policy [JANET is the network that supports high-speed internet connection for all UK universities].
- Read and adhere to our local IT Services Code of Conduct: Regulations for the use of University ICT systems and facilities.
- Adhere to national Legal Requirements. No member of the University should endanger the reputation of the University.
