This project will provide a secondment opportunity for a laboratory technician to train in the tools and skills to improve the sustainability and efficiency of laboratories through the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF). Deliver three LEAF audits (could be either an initial or a follow-up audit, as required) per month, for 6 months covering January to June’21 and provide support and advice for self-assessment audits. Ensure consistency of the auditing process, identify improvement opportunities, and produce audit reports.
Develop S-labs/LEAF communications aides (e.g. stickers and posters).
Use the LEAF framework to quantify carbon and cost savings to the UofG.
Work in tandem with the new GUEST S-Labs promoter for 20/21.
Report back to Centre for Sustainable Solutions and Sustainability Working Group on progress made during the secondment.
