Meet Fay Henderson
UofG Sport Bursar and captain of her British Curling squad
Curling is a game of concentration, strategy and accuracy and a sport that Team GB is very successful in.
Fay Henderson is a second-year Geography student at the University of Glasgow and is combining her undergraduate studies with training as an active member of the British Curling squad.
Fay lives at home and her university experience has been affected by Covid – although she started as a student living in Glasgow the pandemic has meant that she has returned home to Dumfries and studies almost exclusively online.
The flexibility of being a remote student enables Fay to travel three times a week to her training in Stirling as well as manage a part-time supermarket job. A busy student life for Fay!
Fay is a UofG Sport bursar and receives some funding from the alumni fund at the University, as well as support from our team with managing her studies and navigating university life.
Fay is the 'skip' – or captain – of her team and particularly enjoys the teamwork and strategic planning of the game. She competes regularly throughout Europe and is gradually progressing through the squad. She has her sights firmly on Milano 2026, the next Winter Olympics!
