Internal Funding at UofG

The University of Glasgow has numerous internal funding schemes that are open to staff and/or students at the university. These schemes provide support for pump-priming, impact acceleration, knowledge exchange, partnership development and culture initiatives. Chancellor's Fund £7,000 The Chancellor’s Fund aims to:
* Support our students by helping to provide a rich and rewarding university experience.
* Enhance the learning environment by providing access to new technologies and enhanced facilities.
* Develop excellence by providing financial support for research, teaching and promoting academic developments.
* Preserve the University's heritage, enhancing the physical and cultural heritage of the University.
* Advance projects aimed at tackling environmental sustainability in line with the University's response to the climate change emergency.

CoAH Impact Development and Evaluation Fund  £1,000 Eligible costs are those incurred in the development and/or evaluation of impact. We hope the fund will prove useful for opportunities arising, and for those starting out on their impact journey. It is intended to provide agility and can be used in advance of, or in conjunction with, an IAA/GKEF application.  Helen Green
EPSRC Impact Accelerator Account £50,000 Funds to increase the global impact of the University through greater levels of external engagement and entrepreneurship. All UofG staff are eligible to apply for EPSRC IAA funding and hold an IAA award. Applicants must comply with the standard EPSRC eligibility criteria. ESRC Impact Accelerator Account £15,000 Overarching aim to enhance the impact of social science research through greater levels of external engagement. Health Inequalities Initiatives with the University of Sydney £25,000 from UofG and match funding from Sydney The Health Inequalities Initiative is intended to strengthen this priority partnership through support for collaborative projects that are explicitly positioned within the broader systems framework of health inequality. Proposals are invited from colleagues working on the topic of Health Inequalities. Ignition Grants with the University of Sydney £12,500 from UofG and AUD $25,000 from Sydney The Sydney-Glasgow Ignition Grants have been established to facilitate and support joint initiatives that will strengthen the two universities’ strategic priorities as well as develop multi-disciplinary innovative research to create academic and societal impact. Proposals are invited from academic staff from all disciplines at Universities of Glasgow and Sydney and their affiliated Research Centres and Institutes except projects addressing ‘Health Inequalities’. The University of Sydney and University of Glasgow have a large existing collaboration in this area. Infinity G Venture Builder  £20,000 We are applying expert entrepreneurial support to deep tech innovation, transitioning rich research into ventures that positively change the world. A 13-week programme delivered by industry experts within a collaborative environment, we offer a multi-discipline venture acceleration programme designed to advance founders, academics, students, and alumni towards commercialisation and impact. Each venture team will have access to desk space, a media lab, an electronics lab and a mechanical fabrication workshop as well as meeting rooms, kitchen, social areas and more. Each participating venture team will benefit from a £20K grant to invest into product, demo, brand and digital assets that will position the team for market and investment success. infinityG@stac.ac
International Experience Fund £1,000 Funding to support staff development by providing personal and career development opportunities for staff and advance the university’s Global Glasgow 2025 International Strategy. MVLS Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives £10,000 As part of its commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) the College has made available a budget for EDI activities, with a portion allocated to supporting open calls for specific events and projects that would be of benefit across the College and would ideally involve more than one School. Scotland Beyond NetZero Seed Fund £15,000 Applications to the fund should align with the priority Scotland Beyond Net Zero themes of food, finance, built environment, natural systems, energy and transport. We expect project teams to include academic partners from at least two participating Scotland Beyond Net Zero members, along with at least one partner from outside higher education in Scotland such as local or national government, industry, charities or community groups.
