UKRI Future Leader Fellowships

Our expression of interest stage and internal selection process stage has closed for Round 8 of UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships.

We welcome expressions of interest from applicants who wish to apply for Round 8 of UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) with the University of Glasgow as their academic host organisation.

Similar to the previous round 7, the University of Glasgow has an institutional cap of 6 submissions and this call will therefore be demand managed.

The Future Leaders Fellowships are open to both UK and international candidates seeking funding to support ambitious research or innovation across UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) remit. This scheme is aimed at early career researchers or innovators who are either looking to establish or transition to independence or develop their own original and ambitious plans within a commercial setting. For candidates wishing to apply with the University of Glasgow, full eligibility criteria and call details can be found in the guidelines published on the UKRI website.

Internal selection at the University of Glasgow

Given that the University’s submissions are capped, the University will carry out an internal demand management process to triage and select the final six applications to go ahead for submission. Each of the four Colleges in the University of Glasgow – the College of Arts, College of Science and Engineering, College of Social Sciences and the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences – will carry out a first-stage triage of applications within their College remit and put forward an equal number of applications amongst them for a University-level selection panel to choose the final applicants.
