Internal selection at the University of Glasgow
The University will carry out an internal demand management process to triage and select the final six applications to go ahead for submission.
School and/or College-level selection
- Schools and/or Colleges will undertake internal selection and triage of applications to select their final candidates. These selection panels will consider applications using the four published assessment factors: Research & Innovation Excellence, Applicant & their Development, Impact & Strategic Relevance, Research and Innovation Environment.
University-level selection panel
- A University-level selection panel chaired by the VP for Research & Knowledge Exchange, and including FLF award holders, researchers who have previously participated in FLF sift and interview panels, will be convened.
- University-level selection will assume that Research & Innovation Excellence has been considered by disciplinary-based review within Schools & Colleges. This panel will therefore focus their assessment on Applicant & their Development, Impact & Strategic Relevance, Research and Innovation Environment.
- To assist this panel, applicants will also submit a 5-minute video to accompany their written application.
- Each application will be independently reviewed and scored by 3 panel members and a meeting of all panel members will be convened to agree the final shortlist of six Glasgow candidates, plus 2 reserves.
