The University of Glasgow offers a holistic approach through bringing together partners across an ecology of support, training, and development for researchers. Below are some of the key partner teams that Research Culture and Researcher Development works closely with, including teams who provide development and training for researchers; information services; college support teams; colleagues across the Research Services Directorate; and student and academic services who support PGRs.
The Research Culture and Researcher Development team can often be found in the Mazumdar-Shaw Advanced Research Centre ('The ARC') building, where we have a training and development suite (rooms 226a and 226b).

Development and Training Teams
Careers, Employability and Opportunity
The Careers, Employability and Opportunity Team offers workshops, guidance and 1:1 appointments for PGRs and Research Staff
Organisational Development
The Organisational Development Team offer a range of training, e-learning, coaching and consultancy on management and organisational change for all UofG staff
Student Learning Development (SLD)
The Team in Student Learning Development provides academic literacies and transition support for Postgraduate Taught students who are considering future doctoral research.
Academic and Digital Development (ADD)
The Team in Academic and Digital Development provides training and accreditation for teaching and academic practice for researchers and staff. They also have a media unit for creating high quality teaching and research videos.
IT Training Team
The IT Training Team delivers training in IT skills, Office 365, programming, web publishing, and reference management to everyone at UofG
Early Career Development Programme
The Early Career Development Programme (ECDP) is a collaboration between HR, People and Organisational Development, and the Colleges, and provides support for early career academic staff in progressing their academic skills and career towards promotion.

The team of College Librarians support everyone at UofG to make best use of the library research resources and support
Learning Innovation Support Unit (LISU)
The Learning Innovation Support Unit supports staff to learn and us technology to enhance their teaching practices.

College Graduate Schools
Each College Graduate School provides the first point of contact for PGRs for degree administration and progression, changes to study, funding, thesis submission, and for accessing support services.
Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs)
The University hosts several thematic Centres for Doctoral Training and Doctoral Training Partnerships. These studentship schemes fund and train cohorts of postgraduate researchers.
Research Services Teams
Research Services Directorate (RSD)
The Research Culture and Researcher Development Team are part of the Research Services Directorate. RSD works in close partnership with the Vice Principal for Research & Knowledge Exchange to support delivery of the University's research and knowledge exchange objectives.
Innovation Enterprise and Engagement Directorate (IEED)
IEED help research staff with the creation of new ventures to bring innovations to market, and support delivery of the University’s innovation, entrepreneurship, and engagement objectives.
Strategic Research Initiatives
The Strategic Research Initiatives (SRI) Team works with Colleges to nurture cross-disciplinary collaboration within and beyond the University
Research Governance Policy and Integrity
The Governance Policy and Integrity team ensure the University's policy frameworks enable and support its research objectives. They provide integrity support for all researchers, and wider guidance for PGRs.
Research Impact and Engagement
The Research Impact and Engagement team works with Colleges to help researchers engage with research users. They lead on REF and support strategic knowledge exchange projects.
Research Support Office
The Research Support Office (RSO) works with Colleges to provide research funding application support in areas such as bid development, project management, and financial reporting.
Student and academic services for PGRs
Gilchrist Postgraduate Club
The Gilchrist is a social and study space for PGRs and staff on the Gilmorehill Campus. The Club has a cafe-bar, a bookable seminar space, and a regular events programme.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
The SRC represents all University of Glasgow students, including postgraduate researchers. They offer advice, advocacy, and support on a range of accommodation, academic, well-being, employment, and financial topics.
Equality and Diversity Unit
The Equality and Diversity Unit is responsible for promoting and embedding all aspects of equality and diversity within the University community.
International Student Support
International Student Support is a team of advisors for international students, including PGRs. They support on visas and immigration, and offer welcome, orientation, and community events.
Student Disability Service
The Student Disability Service empowers PGRs with disabilities, learning difficulties and medical conditions, to experience in full what the University has to offer.
Student Wellbeing
The Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Team support PGRs with services to support mental health and wellbeing including counselling and safeguarding.
Student Enterprise
From inspired ideas to the next business start-up, Student Enterprise at the University of Glasgow supports PGRs on their enterprise journeys at all stages.
Chaplaincy
The University chaplaincy supports the spiritual life of all faith groups on campus. Honorary chaplains are available for conversations and the chapel holds regular services, meditations, music recitals, and art exhibitions.
