IP & Commercialisation
R&I delivers the University's technology venturing support in collaboration with academic staff, College Business Development teams and senior management. We also work with various external partners including Scottish Enterprise, the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and the UK Research Councils.
The IP & Commercialisation team within R&I provide a University-wide service to help protect and exploit our intellectual property through licensing and spin-out company formation. The team work closely with Colleges to select high value opportunities and work with academic teams to develop and execute agreed exploitation plans.
The team provides a range of support, including opportunity evaluation, IP protection, securing incubation funding, customer engagement, marketing, business planning, and negotiation of commercial agreement terms.
