The Scotland Europa workshop offered UofG research professional services staff the opportunity to participate in bespoke capacity-strengthening training spefically on the Horizon Europe funding programme.

Session 1 covered an introduction to Scotland Europa, the Horizon Europe framework programme and the Strategic agenda for 2025-27; along with opportunities from Pillars II and III.  Session 2 included discussions on exploring different opportunities and levels of HE engagement, building consortiums and developing high-quality proposals.

Participants were joined by attendees from the UniversitĂ© libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Aix-Marseille UniversitĂ©, the Guild, ERRIN, Climate-KIC, South Denmark European Office, Coventry University and Welsh Higher Education Brussels.

As part of Scotland House annual Burns Night celebrations in Brussels, delegates were invited to join an evening networking reception with 100+ guests; with entertainment provided by tremendous performers from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Scotland Europa, including its subgroup SURGE (Scotland Europa Universities and Research Group in Europe), are a team of EU policy and funding experts who help members to understand EU funding programmes, identify opportunities and develop projects for European funding.
