Long term visitor checklist
The checklist below is a sample which provides a helpful guideline to the considerations that should be made when organising a trip on the behalf of a long term visitor (longer than four weeks).

1. | Agree a bench fee (if appropriate). |
2. | Confirm visit with the visit co-ordinator and forward on visit brief. |
3. | Ensure that the visitor has received appropriate documentation from the University e.g. copies of relevant policies, working permissions documents etc. prior to working date. |
4. | Check the availability for an appropriate work area for the visitor, and organise any office equipment. |
5. | Arrange for a computer, telephone, and email account where appropriate to be set up and in place for the visitor. |
6. | Organise any relevant training for the visitor. |
7. | Ensure visitor has completed an Honorary/Visiting/Affiliate Status Registration Form (if visiting for longer than 4 weeks). For guidance filling the form, refer to this section of the website. |
8. | Forward Honorary/Visiting/Affiliate Status Registration Form to Human Resources. |
9. | Arrange health and safety briefing (if appropriate). |
10. | Arrange meet and greet for visitor on arrival to the school. |
11. | Check if there is orientation tour scheduled which coincides with your visitor's first days in Glasgow, and arrange a University tour for the visitor. The Student Services Enquiry Team can advise: 0141 300 7000 |
12. | Advise visitor of things to do locally. |
13. | Once the visit is over, notify University services etc. so that your visitor's e-mail account and access can be deactivated/discontinued as appropriate. |
14. | Farewell and return of room keys, affiliate staff card, etc. |
