What is coaching?
Coaching is a supportive and enabling process which can help to raise self-awareness in us and support us to identify choices and alternative solutions to a challenge we are experiencing. Coaching is often used to help us develop skills, shift our perspectives and enhance our performance and overall wellbeing.
Coaching is not about providing advice, rather it is about the coach helping someone to build their own resourcefulness through skilled listening, questioning, challenge and support.
It is not corrective however, people often seek some coaching because there is something they want to change. They ideally want to close the gap between what they see as the ideal and the current situation. Coaching can help someone achieve this.
