Doctors & Dentists at Honorary Consultant Level

The Terms and Conditions of Employment for all consultants working in the NHS were agreed in 2004 further to discussions with the BMA, UCEA, NHS and Scottish Executive.  The full text of the Scottish NHS Handbook has been issued to each consultant and can be found at the Scottish Executive's Health Department Website.

This agreement includes specialised sections for senior clinical academics and senior clinical academic GPs and for ease of access these are detailed below.
