Glasgow beat Emmanuel College, Cambridge, to win through to the next round
Glasgow’s University Challenge Team emerged victorious from a close fought contest to progress to the next round of the televised competition.
The team of four students beat off competition from Emmanuel College, Cambridge, by 200 points to 175. This result means Glasgow will feature at least once more in the competition, early in the New Year.
The episode was aired on BBC 2 on Monday 23 July and was screened in the Glasgow University Union.

James Hampson from Helsby, Cheshire- Medicine
Cameron Herbert from Burley in Wharfedale, Yorkshire - Sociology with quantitative methods
Polly Russell (reserve) from Nottingham - Statistics
