The latest National Student Survey has been published, with some great results for the University of Glasgow.

Overall, the University has been rated joint first in the Russell Group of research intensive institutions and joint second in Scotland.

Scores for Assessment and Feedback have risen by 0.7% - from 68.6% last year to 69.3% this year. Specifically, we have seen improvements on “criteria used in marking being clear” and “marking and assessment being fair”. Nevertheless, we recognise that there remains room for improvement, which is why “Assessment and Feedback” is one of the priority workstreams for our World Class Glasgow transformation team.

For overall satisfaction, the following subjects were ranked 1st or joint 1st in the UK:
• Nutrition
• Theology and Religious Studies
• Genetics
• Teacher education

Professor Frank Coton, Vice-Principal (Academic and Educational Innovation), said:  “We are delighted that Glasgow’s excellence in teaching is recognised by the NSS. World-class teaching and learning is at the very heart of what we do. Over the past few years we have invested heavily in our buildings and infrastructure, including in first-class learning spaces, IT, the library and sports centre. Our Learning and Teaching Hub – the first new building in our £1bn campus development programme – will open in 2019, offering students state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces.”
