‘Have Your Say' through the Staff Survey
The staff survey will open next month. As always, this presents an important opportunity for us all to make ours views known on a range of matters including our roles, pay and benefits, career development, wellbeing and work-life balance, management and leadership.
This year the University is delighted to be working with ORC International to deliver the survey, with ORC bringing a wealth of sectoral knowledge, engaging presentation of results and a significant focus on turning results into action.
Following a positive 68% response rate in 2016, colleagues are again encouraged to take this important opportunity to be heard. Feedback from last time has already been actioned and, as a result, this year’s survey will be noticeably smaller. This will lead to shorter completion times and more actionable data. More than ever, the message to staff across all campuses is that can 'have your say'.
To give a quick recap, key findings in 2016 included:
- 91% felt the University was a good place to work (up 1% from the 2014 survey);
- 57% of respondents felt they had an opportunity to feed their views upwards within the University (up 3% on 2014)
- 89% felt proud to work for the University (up 3% from 2014)
Look out for further updates and related events in the coming weeks, where we will be exploring some of the notable activity which has taken place across the University since the last survey.
