Glasgow LGBT+ Network attends inaugural event
Carlo van den Heuvel, Co-Chair of the University of Glasgow LGBT+ Network, attended the first ever meeting of the LGBT+ Network of Networks for Higher Education institutions in London. The aim of the LGBT+ Network of Networks is to provide opportunities for shared learning and support for networks to upskills their members, build resilience, and form effective relationships with their institutions.
Carlo said: “It was wonderful seeing colleagues from 52 higher education institutions coming together and discussing best practice for LGBT+ networks. I am looking forward to bringing back some success stories of LGBT+ networks across Britain to the University of Glasgow, increasing our impact!”
The LGBT+ Network is open to all University of Glasgow staff and postgraduate students who identify as LGBT+. Currently the network has almost 200 members and organises events and activities throughout the year. Last month the LGBT+ Network teamed up with the SRC and GULGBT+ student society to march together in Pride Glasgow.
