UofG Sport are currently completing a review of the sport, health and wellbeing provision available to UofG staff. As part of the review, they are looking to host a number of focus groups to gather feedback, which will be used to inform service improvements.
If you would like to play a key role in helping to improve the current provision for staff then UofG Sport would love to hear from you. In particular, they are looking to speak to:
a. UofG staff who have had a sport membership previously but aren't current members
b. UofG staff who do not use any of the sport facilities or programmes
The focus groups will be scheduled over a lunchtime, will last approximately 50 minutes, and are anticipated to take place in February 2018. Discussion will focus on attitudes towards and experiences of sport, health and wellbeing provision available to UofG staff, as well as barriers to access and suggestions for improvements. Examples of the kinds of improvements that we are considering include; activity provision for staff across the University campus (i.e not restricted to the Stevenson Building or Garscube Sports Complex), staff only sessions, staff recreational sport activities, walking & running groups for staff, staff specific inductions and training plans.
Key themes
Each group will include six to eight staff members, alongside representatives from UofG Sport. The discussions will not be audio-recorded, but we will type up a summary of key themes to inform future work. A sandwich lunch will be provided – or you are welcome to bring your own!
If you are interested in taking take part in one of the focus groups, or would like to find out more, please email sport@glasgow.ac.uk with your name and contact details. Please title the email 'Staff Sport Focus Groups' and explain in the body of the email if you are in group A or B above.
An additional focus group will be held for current members, who will be contacted separately.
All those that participate in the focus groups will receive a free UofG Sport Nike T-shirt.
Thanks in advance for your support as we try to improve the current programmes and activities for staff.
